    1. UFMC V2 New Features

SID and STAR Full Procedures:

•     Intersections

•DME Arcs

•Altitude Waypoints

•Conditional Waypoints

•WaypointsBearings

•Holds

Waypoint bearing with distance

For bearing with distance enter in the scrachtpad this:

DEL180/10

This means, a point which is on bearing 180 and 10NM away from the VOR DEL.

Intersection of bearings of two waypoints

Ente  in the ScratchPad:

SEA330/OLM020

This means, a point were the radial 330 of SEA and the radial 020 of OLM intersect.

Along Track Waypoints

In a route, for example ELN to EPH (042°) and it need  to have a waypoint between these waypoints, then

ELN/25

This will be a waypoint 25NM away from ELN, but still with the same heading between ELN and EPH (042°)

HOLDING

Route Hold Page With No Holding Fix in Route

The hold legs page is a fully functional LEGS page  when PPOS is pressed (RK6), the page is directly changed to the

Route Hold Page After Pushing PPOS And Executing

Creates a Right Hold procedure in the Current position with the current heading as inbound.

The HOLD enterings are computed automatically by the UFMC:

DIRECT, PARALLEL and TEAR DROP.

Lat/Lon entry

The format is this:

N4147.9W08745.1

Route Lateral offset

Route offsets are entered in the RTE page

Required Time of Arrival (RTA)

Progress Page 3/3

This page is used, when you need to arrive at a specific time. Great when you're late.

Pause at T/D

If you want to be unattended at the flight until reach T/D or several Miles Before T/D, you can select here when the sim will Pause.

UFMC FEATURES

The FMC is the best tool for the planning and execution of the flight route, either for long travels and high cruise levels, as well as short ones to low altitude, it will ensure all possibilities of any airliner.

It simulates complete FMC pages with full details. You can make what a real pilot does in a real flight:

                      IDENT

We can see the aircraft model and Engines type. This

Page shows the Airac and the dates of the Airac.

It shows also the Software version

POS

Shows the UTC and the current global position.

PERF

The FMC calculates the fuel needed. You have to fill the tanks, even the reserve fuel. You enter the COST INDEX and the CRUISE LEVEL. You can also select if will use Step Climb for a long travel. This is for Fuel estimations pourpose.

THRUST LIMITS

You can select a different OAT Temperature (perhaps the aircraft is in the shadow and the runway temperature is higher). Select the thrust limit during takeoff and the thrust limit during Climb.

This one is when we have taked off,

you can select the THRUST LIMITS

TAKEOFF

You can enter the flaps for takeoff, acceleration altitude, altitude for thrust reduction, The UFMC tells you the wind at the runway heading. You can change the runway condition (DRY or WET) changing V1. The V1, Vr and V2 speeds are calculated by the UFMC, but you can enter manually if you want.

APPROACH

This Page is to help in the approach telling you the flaps landing speeds. Indicates the Gross weight, calculating the Vrefs. You have to select one of them to get a safe landing.

VNAV CLIMB

You can change the climb speed here from the Econ Speed calculated by the UFMC, entering Kias and Mach. You can also change the transition Speed and transition altitude (Altitudes to Flight Levels), as well as the Speed restrictions if any.

VNAV CRUISE AND

ACCURATED CLIMB STEPS PREDICTIONS TO SAVE FUEL IN LONG TRAVELS

This Page shows the Cruise Altitude Selected, The Optimal Speed (you can change it here), the Optimal Thrust limit that you can change in the Thrust Limit PAGE. You can see if Step Size type (ICAO here), The Optimal Cruise Level and the Maximum Cruise Level, calculated by the UFMC depending of many factors. If you have reached the Optimal Cruise, this page tells you the next Climb Step (35000 feet here) and WHEN you can climb to the new Optimal Cruise Level and How Many Nautical Miles far is the climb step. The next is the Estimated time of arrival and the fuel remaining.

VNAV DESCENT

You can see here in what Waypoint the optimal descent finished, The optimal descent speed, that you can change it here, The arrival airport transitions and any speed restrictions. You can also make a very steep descent selecting OFFpath Des

COMPLETE ROUTE MANAGEMENT

Here you can manage all the route EASILY, inserting, deleting waypoints. You can make a DIRECT TO also. You can see the magnetic heading and distance to every Waypoint, as well as the Speed and Flight level or altitude. Here you can also add the Restrictions for the waypoints, in Speed and altitude. You can CREATE FLIGHT PLANS using AIRWAYS, as the real ones. You can also Save routes and load presaved routes

 PROGRESS STATUS

This first status page give us useful information about the Route. Here yoy can find the last Waypoint name, altitude , zulu time a fuel remaining when passed. We can also see the waypoint we are flying to, the next on and our destination airport name and ETA. We can see also the speed selected in the MCP

In this second Progress Status Page, we can find
the heading wind as well as the lateral wind components. We can also see the wind direction and intensity. It shows the Lateral error from our track in Nauticals Milles and shows the Vertical error from our Vertical path in Feets. We can see the TAS, SAT and total Fuel FLOW as well as by any of the four engines (in this case it is an aircraft with two engines) At Last, The Fuel Remaining masured by the instruments and calculated by the UFMC. (Perhaps an instruments doesn't work properly)

There is a thrid Progress Page where is entered the RTA (required Time of Arrival

FULL SID AND STAR AIRPORTS PROCEDURES

From the list of Runways, When one selected, the UFMC list all the Procedures SIDs (Departures) or STARs (Arrivals) to Select one. The STARS can be selected during the flight, when the ATC Authorize the STAR

AUTOMATIC
RADIO NAVIGATION TUNING IN APPROACH

The UFMC automatically tunes the VOR's and radionavigations to make a more accurated route. We can see at the left the MCU VOR tuned and the Radial we are and where we are going TO. To the Right is the Manual side, where we can select the frequency and course. At last we have the landing Runway ILS freq and heading.

TRULY FUEL AND TIME PREDICTIONS AND COMPUTATIONS

For every Waypoint The UFMC predicts the ETA time (zulu) and the Fuel Remaining (Pounds x1000)
